Newly appointed Bafana Bafana coach, Ephraim Shakes Mashaba, has picked a youthful squad for the match in Sudan Friday evening, as they kick off group A of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The teams have never met in a senior official match before despite being founding members of the confederation of African Football(CAF) making this a historical encounter.

The Bafana Bafana squad however  has been dealt a severe blow by the pulling out of first choice goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune due to injury and attacking midfielder Ayanda Patosi who missed his connecting flight.

“I am confident with this group of players travelling to Sudan. We are going there to fight, make no mistake,” said Mashaba.

Sudan will not push overs, especially on home soil. The Falcons of Jediane lost 3-1 to Zambia in a warm up international friendly, but the coach Mohamed “Mazda” Abdallah insists “the loss has made us even more hungry to stop the Southern Africa team”.

Kick- off is on Friday September 5, 2014 at 19:00 pm SA time.
