SADC Facilitator Ramaphosa in Maseru
SADC Facilitator and South African Deputy President, Cyril Ramaphosa arrived in Maseru Wednesday, October 15, 2014, ahead of the reconvening of the country’s Parliament by His Majesty, King Letsie III scheduled for Friday, October 17, 2014.
The reconvening of Lesotho’s Parliament follows the recently signed Maseru Facilitation Declaration October 2, 2014.
In terms of the Declaration, His Majesty, King Letsie III is to reconvene Parliament on October 17, 2014, to discuss budget and related matters regarding the holding of elections.
The Maseru Facilitation Declaration provided that Parliament be dissolved at the beginning of December 2014 to prepare for National General Elections scheduled for the end of February 2015 on a date to be set by His Majesty, King Letsie III.
